There are many canal enthusiasts who love the traditional style of painting which spread to include other decorative or utilitarian pieces. Many non boat-related items can be painted, from coal scuttles to teapots for use in the home, to flower pails and watering cans for the garden, as well as smaller souvenir or gift items.
In the boat museum at Gloucester amongst the Cabin Stools. and Horse Nose Bowls are several painted biscuit tins and in his video on painting 'Roses and Castles' Tony Lewery shows a flour sifter painted by Frank Nurser in his typically confident and flamboyant traditional style.
If you like a particular piece and its not currently available , it is normally possible to order a similar piece, depending on availability of the raw materials; so please do phone me and ask. I've recently painted 2 of the 3 large old enamel teapots I acquired.
